ASVEL Villeurbanne continued building its roster for the next season and the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds, adding point guard Taurean Green on a one-year deal. Greene (1.84 meters, 27 years old) comes from Limoges CSP, team he helped win the French title last season, where he averaged 9.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. He has been a champion even before his professional career started, having won a pair of NCAA title with the University of Florida in 2006 and 2007. He also played for Porltand and Denver in the NBA, before moving to Europe where has played for CAI Zaragoza and Gran Canaria in Spain, AEK Athens in Greece, Tofas Bursa in Turkey, and Sigma Barcellona of the Italian second division. Green is the fourth addition to the team since the end of the last season, after ASVEL previously signed experienced guard Yohann Sangare, swingman David Lighty, and forward Ahmad Nivins.
