Triumph extends Askrabic, Krotenkov, Vyaltsev, Toporov

Triumph Lyubertsy has announced that four of its players - Ognjen Askrabic, Igor Krotenkov, Egor Vyaltsev and Sergey Toporov - extended their respective contracts with the team. Krotenkov (212, 24) extended his contract for three seasons, Askrabic (207, 28) inked a two-year deal while Vyaltsev (190, 22) and Toporov (197, 27) signed contracts for the 2008-09 season. Askrabic averaged 12.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 12 ULEB Cup last season. He has also played for FMP Zeleznik in Serbia and Dynamo St. Petersburg in Russia. He won the 2004 Adriatic League title and lifted the 2003 Yugoslavian League title with FMP, as well as winning the FIBA EuroCup with Dynamo in 2005. Krotenkov will start his third season with the team. He averaged 3.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 4 ULEB Cup last season and has also played for Unics Kazan and Dynamo St. Petersburg in his native Russia. Meanwhile, Vyaltsev averaged 3.9 points and 1.2 steals in 11 ULEB Cup games. He has also played for Samara, Ural Great and CSKA Moscow, to which he helped to win consecutive Russian League titles in 2003 and 2004. Toporov averaged 11.3 points in 8 ULEB Cup games last season. He has had a solid career in some of the best Russian teams such as Lokomotiv Rostov, Unics Kazan or Samara, as well as being a member of the Russian national team.
