Asvel lands Ben Dewar
Ben Dewar (Photo: Entente Orleans 45) Asvel Basket has started to look forward and get ready for the upcoming 2008-09 season by inking forward Ben Dewar to a one-year deal. Dewar (196, 26) arrives from Entente Orleans 45, the team he has been playing for in each of the last three seasons. He averaged 12.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 30 French League games last season. He helped Orleans to win the French second division in 2006 and make it to the Semaine Des As quarterfinals in 2007. Dewar has also played for Sjaelland in Denmark since he finished his college career at Lake Superior State (NCAA2), where he averaged 23.9 points in his senior year. Asvel has announced in April that head coach Vincent Collet had inked a three-year deal with the team. "I have been following the performance of this game for several years and I am very happy to have him in our team," Collet said. "He will give us intensity at both ends of the court."
