Khimki has signed reigning ULEB Cup champ Jerome Moiso, one of the men who ended the club's quest for the title last season. Moiso arrives from DKV Joventut, with whom he eliminated Khimki last season in the Last 16. Moiso (208, 30) was a key part of Joventut's success last season, offering up defense, rebounding and shot-blocking. He shined bright on the biggest stage, posting 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocked shots in the ULEB Cup Final in Turin, Italy. He averaged 7.1 points on 55.2% shooting, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in just under 20 minutes per game in the ULEB Cup as a part-time starter last season, his first at Joventut.
Moiso has had a long and distinguished career. He played college basketball at UCLA until 2000 and then he played in the NBA with the Boston Celtics, Hornets – first in Charlotte and later in New Orleans – Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets and Cleveland Cavs before returning to Europe. Moiso signed for with Lottomatica Roma in 2006 and averaging 2.5 points and 4 rebounds in the Euroleague, but by December of that year he moved to Bologna to play for Climamio. He later joined Real Madrid in time for the Spanish playoffs and helped the club lift the 2007 title.
