Artland Dragons extends Dirk Madrich
Artland Dragons stay as one of the most active teams in the 2008-09 Eurocup off-season by extending center Dirk Madrich for an extra year. Madrich (212, 24) averaged 4.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8 ULEB Cup games last season. He helped the Dragons to win the German Cup last season, as well as reaching the ULEB Cup Last 16. Madrich has also played for Strasbourg in France, as well as for Braunschweig, Bamberg and Dorsten in his native Germany. "Dirk is an important player in our team, since he can play in several positions due to his versatility, as he can play inside or take the three-point shot" Dragons head coach Thorsten Leibenath said. "We expect Dirk to take one step forwards in the upcoming season."
