Base Oostende adds size with Matt Haryasz

Base Oostende has announced that center Matt Haryasz inked a one-year deal with his new club. Haryasz (210, 24) arrives from Eisbaren Bremerhaven, where he averaged 13.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in the German League last season. Haryasz averaged 16.2 points and 8.7 rebounds in 29 NCAA games in the 2005-06 season - his senior year - at Stanford University. He started his professional career with the Arkansas RimRockers but got injured in December 2006. He recovered and joined the Houston Rockets early in the 2007-08 seasn before moving to Basket Napoli for just 7 games, finishing the season in Bremenhaven. Haryasz is ready to help Oostende to reach the Eurocup regular season through the qualifying rounds.
