Le Mans made sure that it will have a high-scoring attack as it enters the Euroleague qualifying rounds after signing former Alphonso Ford Trophy winner Marc Salyers for the coming season. Salyers (206, 30) was the top scorer in the Euroleague two years ago when he averaged 21.8 points and 6.6 rebounds in 14 games for Chorale Roanne. He is also the last player to tally 40 points in a Euroleague game, accomplishing that feat in November 2007 against his former team, Fenerbahce Ulker. Salyers arrives from Ukrainian side Azovmash Mariupol, for whom he posted 13.5 points in four Eurocup appearances last season. In signing for Le Mans, Salyers will be reunited with swingman Dee Spencer. The two were teammates at Roanne in the 2006-07 season, leading the club to the French League crown and Semaine d'As title. Salyers has also played in Italy for Cimberio Borgomanero and SS Montecatini, in Turkey for Oyak Bursa and Fenerbahce Istanbul, Iin France for EB Pau-Orthez, BCM Gravelins-Dunkerque and Roanne, in Korea for Pusan KTF Magic Wings and in Ukraine for Azovmash.
