Top 16, mid-round review: Group G
Sasha Kaun - CSKA Moscow

A big favorite and three contenders are battling their way to the playoffs in Group G, where CSKA Moscow (3-0) is trying to lay the groundwork for extending its record Final Four appearance streak, already at seven. CSKA can clinch first place as soon as Week 4, but will have it tough to steal a road win at Asseco Prokom (2-1). Not only does Prokom already have convincing wins against Unicaja (1-2) and Zalgiris (0-3) in this phase, but it beat teams like Real Madrid and BC Khimki in Gdynia earlier this season. If Prokom wins in Moscow, Unicaja faces a virtual do-or-die situation visiting Zalgiris in Week 4. Due to a 20-point home loss to the Polish champs, Unicaja likely needs to at least match Prokom's win total before they meet in Week 6. Zalgiris is all but mathematically eliminated  due to its three heavy losses so far, but can play spoiler with two home games left.
