Busy Maroussi brings in Karapostolou
Maroussi BC signed combo guard Sotiris Karapostolou on Thursday to bolster its backcourt. He arrives from Iraklis Thessaloniki, where he averaged 10 points, 3 assists and 1.4 steals in the Greek second division last season. Karapostolou (194, 32) grew up with Perseas Larissa and then moved to Larissa Gymnastic Club, before leaving Greece to gain experience abroad. He played for Southern New Hampshire College in the United States and for Artland Dragons in Germany before returning to Greece and playing for Aris BC, Makedonikos, Panellinios, and Rethimno. He split the 2008-09 season between Keravnos Strovolou in Cyprus and Olympia Larissa, where he was coached by the current head coach of Maroussi, Giorgos Bartzokas. Last season Karapostolou helped Iraklis to advance in the Greek A1 League.
