Zalgiris releases Nelson
Reeves Nelson (Photo: Zalgiris.lt)Zalgiris Kaunas released rookie forward Reeves Nelson, the club announced Tuesday. Nelson was originally signed for one-month with a team option to extend the deal for the rest of the season, but Zalgiris declined the option on the last day of January. Reeves grabbed 2 rebounds in five minutes of his only Turkish Airlines Euroleague game against Maccabi. He also averaged 2 points and 2 rebounds in three Lithuanian League games.

“He is a good player, but he needs time to get used to European basketball and Zalgiris,” club owner Vladimir Romanov said on the team’s website. “But we don’t have the time. We needed Nelson to play at the top level already now.”
