Final Eight 2009Lietuvos Rytas shined brightest among a list of big names as it became the first two-time Eurocup champion. L. Rytas recorded an impressive come-from-behind win over BC Khimki Moscow Region in the title game behind Marijonas Petravicius, who earned Final Eight MVP honors. The exciting title game came at the end of a long weekend of basketball highlights in which each and every game was decided by fewer than 10 points. Hemofarm Stada and L. Rytas started the action with quarterfinals wins on Thursday. Khimki and iurbentia Bilbao matched them on Friday. Saturday’s semis both featured drama in the closing minutes before L. Rytas and Khimki prevailed. In the final, L. Rytas came back from 12 down with a 17-0 run to win the title. MORE

Janis Blums - Iurbentia Bilbao
Hemofarm Stada, Lietuvos Rytas, BC Khimki and iurbentia Bilbao Basket made it to the Eurocup semifinals! Hemofarm upset Dynamo Moscow 85-93 with 16 points from Bojan Krstovic. L. Rytas topped Benetton Basket 79-85 with 23 points from Eurocup MVP Chuck Eidson. Khimki rallied to edge Pamesa Valencia 73-76 with 15 points from Mike Wilkinson. Bilbao bested Zadar 76-67, as Janis Blums led the way with 21 points in 19 minutes. MORE

Carlos Delfino - BC Khimki - Final Eight Turin 2009
Lietuvos Rytas and BC Khimki reached the Eurocup final by surviving respective semifinal thrillers in Turin. L. Rytas edged Hemofarm 68-73 behind 23 points from Marius Petravicius. Mindaugas Lukauskis downed a nine-meter triple that changed the game momentum for good. Khimki defeated iurbentia Bilbao Basket 79-73 behind 18 points from Carlos Delfino. A put-back basket by Mike Wilkinson sealed the outcome down the stretch. MORE

Lietuvos Rytas Champion ULEB Cup 2008-09  - Final Eight Turin 2009
L. Rytas became the first team to win the Eurocup title twice and sealed its return to the Euroleague for the 2009-10 season by downing BC Khimki Moscow Region 80-74 in the final. Marijonas Petravicius led the winners and earned Final Eight MVP honors with 20 points. Khimki led 39-51 after the break but a 17-0 run brought L. Rytas back to life. With the game tied at 71-71, Chuck Eidson and Steponas Babrauskas made the difference. MORE
