Quarterfinals, Game 1

The Eurocup playoff fever was hot this week as two teams cashed in road wins in the opening games of the Quarterfinals to move closer to the Eurocup Finals. Bizkaia Bilbao Basket and Power Electronics Valencia were the big winners on the road. In Tuesday’s only game, Bilbao beat CEZ Nymburk 47-59 behind Jerome Moiso’s 11 points. And on Wednesday, Marko Marinovic came through with 18 points as Valencia downed Aris 64-71. In a second meeting between Greek and Spanish sides, Panellinios topped Gran Canaria 81-70 thanks to Rod Blakney’s 21-point effort. Brandon Hunter posted 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead Hapoel Jerusalem past Alba Berlin 67-61. Quarterfinals, Game 2
Players Valencia celebrate - Power Electronics Valencia
The second and last night of quarterfinals decided the four teams going to the Eurocup Finals on April 17 and 18 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain! The first was Alba Berlin, a 72-59 home winner against Hapoel Jerusalem to take their series by 7 points. The second was Bilbao, which advanced despite a 46-52 home loss to Nymburk. Again despite a loss, the third semifinalist was Panellinios, which fell 75-68 at Gran Canaria but advanced on the strength of its 11-point victory in Game 1. The fourth and final spot in the Eurocup Finals went to Valencia, whose 85-67 victory over visiting Aris behind Thomas Kelati's 18 points made it the only team to win its quarterfinal series in a sweep. The semifinals on April 17 will be: Alba vs. Bilbao and Valencia vs. Panellinios. MORE
