BC Kyiv shored up its backcourt Saturday by signing shooting guard Clay Tucker, who arrives from Russian side Khimki. Tucker (195, 28) joined Khimki midway through last season and averaged 11.3 points on 42.9% three-point shooting and 2 assists in four elimination round games. He also averaged 10 points and 2 assists in 10 Russian League games, helping his team win its first ever title – the Russian Cup – and reach the Russian League finals. He began last season with Siviglia Wear Teramo and was leading the Italian League in scoring with 21 points per game in 21 appearances when he left the club. Tucker added 5.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game at Teramo. Tucker’s European career has consisted of stops with Sundsvall Dragons in Sweden, MENT Vassilakis in Greece and Le Mans in France. He has also played for a number of semipro teams in the United States, the highlight being a then-NBDL-record 51-point performance for the Arkansas RimRockers two seasons ago.
