Qualifying Round B, Game 2 preview: Ural Great - BC FMP
Ural Great Perm has an 8-point deficit to make up as it hosts the return leg of the Eurocup second qualifying round against FMP. Head coach Roman Dvinyaninov's Ural Great shot just 39% from the floor and was out-rebounded 40-31 in losing 69-61 in the first leg at FMP. Forward Aleksey Surovtsev's 12 points led four players in double figures, but the team also struggled at the foul stripe, making just 11 of 22 (50%). Dvinyaninov's side will have to shoot better from long range in order to make up ground quickly in case FMP pulls ahead on the road, meaning guard Christian Dalmau and forwards Ralph Biggs, Vanja Plisnic and Jumaine Jones will have to do better than combine for 5-of-17 from behind the arc. FMP head coach Slobodan Klipa will likely once again rely on the solid play of power forward Dragan Labovic, who had 22 points and 7 rebounds in the first leg. Center Miroslav Raduljica is bound to bounce back from scoring just 6 points, while Klipa hopes to get at least the same production from forward Nikola Markovic (11 points) and guard Nemanja Protic (10 points). FMP must also improve a bit on its three-point shooting after making just 4 of 18 (22%) in the first leg. If some of FMP's wing players can get hot early, the visitors could crack Ural Great en route to a ticket to the group stage.
