Qualifying Round E, Game 2 preview: BC Kyiv - Panellinios

BC Kyiv needs a miracle to advance to the Eurocup regular season as it faces a 27-point deficit going into the second qualifying round return leg at home against Panellinios. Head coach Sasa Obradovic's Kyiv side saw little go right in losing 96-69 in Greece. Kyiv shot just 45% from the floor and Panellinios made 51% of its shots. Forward Brent Wright was one of the few effective players with 14 points and 6 rebounds while forward Artur Drozdov added 12 points. But there were not enough other players stepping up. Obradovic's entire team will need to come out in top form, and unless Kyiv knocks down some early shots, the hosts can forget quickly about the regular season. Panellinios head coach Elias Zouros meanwhile knows all his team has to do is play a solid and steady game. The first leg victory could have been even more impressive had it not been for 19 turnovers and making just 17-of-26 (65%) free throws. Guard Anthony Grundy was superb in the first leg with 24 points and 4 steals, while forward Ivan Radenovic began living up to his potential with 21 points. Forward Brad Newley added 14 points and forward Jurica Golemac chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Baring a complete collapse, Zouros will be leading his Panellinios side into the regular season.
