DKV JOVENTUT locks up Tomas, Eyenga

DKV Joventut Badalona announced that it has extended the contracts of a pair of young players who could be pillars of the club's future. Small forward Pere Tomas and shooting guard Christian Eyenga both signed three-year deals. Tomas (202, 19) has been part of the Joventut senior squad for two seasons already. He averaged 2.3 points over 8-plus minutes in nine Euroleague appearances last season. Tomas also appeared in the 2008 ULEB Cup final, when Joventut knocked off Akasvayu Girona for the crown. Among his other career highlights are winning the 2008 Spanish King's Cup and bronze medals with the Spanish national team at the 2006 European U-18 Championship and the 2008 European U-20 Championship. He currently in Rhodes playing at the ongoing European U-20 Championship. Tomas's younger brother, Joan, is also in the Joventut youth teams.
Eyenga (198, 20) played most of last season for the Joventut farm team, CB Prat, but also made four appearances in the Euroleague. A native of Kinshasa in the Congo, he first came to Joventut in January 2007. Eyenga averaged 13.3 points and 6 rebounds over 30 minutes in 25 games for Prat last season.
