Valencia Basket reached a new agreement with playmaker Sam Van Rossom to stay together for two more years until the end of the 2019-20 season, the club announced on Thursday. Van Rossom (1.88 meters, 32 years old) averaged 7.2 points and 4.0 assists in 24 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, his fifth with the Spanish powerhouse. In those five years with Valencia, Van Rossom helped the club to win the Spanish League title in 2017 and to lift the EuroCup trophy in 2014. He started his career with De Pinte and Ostend of his native Belgium and also played for Scavolini Pesaro of Italy and Basket Zaragoza of Spain before joining Valencia in 2013. He helped Ostend win consecutive Belgian League titles in 2006 and 2007, lifting the Belgium Cup in 2008. Van Rossom is also a regular member of the Belgian national team. Van Rossom has taken part in 77 EuroCup games, winning 50 of them (64.9%), as well as amassing 606 points and 217 assists (26th all-time).
