Josh Owens scored twice later in the quarter and Jones's triple had the guests up 35-45. Two scores from Lopez-Arostegui got Joventut within 41-48 at the break.

Jones opened the second half with the first 5 points and the lead grew to 12. Ventura and Morgan hit three-pointers as Joventut pulled within 49-55. Jones added another 5 points as Bahcesehir went on a 0-9 run and the lead swelled to 49-64. It was still 15 points (53-68) after 30 minutes. Akyazili opened the fourth quarter as the advantage grew to 53-70. Joventut would not go down without a fight with Bassas scoring 5 points in an 11-0 run over nearly 4 minutes to pull within 64-70. Bahcesehir kept its composure and Akpinar hit a three-pointer to start a 0-9 run and re-establish a 15-point gap 64-79 with less than 3 minutes to play. Bassas and Morgan hit three-pointers for the hosts, but Jones also connected from long range and Akpinar converted a three-point play to help Bahcesehir get the win.

Head Coaches

DURAN, CARLES
Joventut Badalona
"I congratulate my team for the effort and also for Istanbul because they played better than us. Istanbul played with more energy than us. It’s difficult to win if you commit 20 turnovers. And Istanbul was making shots very easily. It’s impossible to play like this."
AKTAS, ZAFER
Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul
"We have been trying to play this intensive defense for five or six games. We are doing well, but on the other hand fighting for rebounds is the most important thing for us. We had 22 assists and it shows that we are sharing the ball, which means good things for us. Maybe we will not qualify [for the Top 16], but I think we did a pretty good job in the EuroCup if you look at the past games. I think we did a good job in our first year in EuroCup. It's good to be here to play against Badalona in this gym."

Players

JONES, JAMAL
Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul
"We had to keep fighting in the second half. For 5 or 6 minutes we gave them a chance. They are a great team, an undefeated team, even if they are missing players. So we had to keep fighting. We did that until the end and finally got a W in the EuroCup. It was just one of those nights. Every basketball player has one of those nights where every shot falls. It was just one of those nights."
