Kambala (206, 31) arrives from Enisey Krasnoyarsk, where he averaged 14.5 points and 6.1 rebounds in 11 Russian League games last season. He joined Enisey in January 2009 following a two-year doping suspension, during which time he pursued a brief boxing career. Previously, Kambala was one of the most dominant big men in Europe while playing for Fenerbahce and Efes Pilsen in Turkey, Real Madrid in Spain and Unics Kazan in Russia. Kambala has also been a member of the Latvian national team. He helped Fenerbahce to win the Turkish League title in 2007 and did the same with Efes in 2002 and 2003. He also lifted the Turkish Cup trophy with Efes in 2002 and made it to the ULEB Cup final with Madrid in 2004. Kambala ranks fifth (16.7 ppg.) in scoring average and shares the Euroleague's single-game scoring record for last decade - 41 points against FC Barcelona on October 30, 2002 - with two players, Carlton Myers and the late Alphonso Ford.
