The Eurocup's return to a single-game final at its long-time home under that format, the RTL Spiroudome in Charleroi, Belgium, was celebrated with a press conference at the venue on Thursday. The RTL Spiroudome, which hosted the Eurocup title game for four consecutive years in the middle of last decade, will do so again in both 2013 and 2014, it was announced recently. The Eurocup will hold its 11th final in as many years and determine a new champion on Saturday, April 13, 2013 starting at 21:00 local time (CET). Previously, four iconic clubs – Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem in 2004, Lietuvos Rytas in 2005, Dynamo Moscow in 2006 and Real Madrid in 2007 – were crowned Eurocup champions on the RTL Spiroudome floor. The crowning of a Eurocup champion subsequently expanded to include quarterfinals and semifinals during successful weekend-long events in Torino, Vitoria, Treviso and Khimki over recent years. Now, a two-year agreement between Euroleague Basketball and Belgacom Spirou means that a Eurocup champion will be crowned again in a single-game final at the only place that has ever taken place, the Spiroudome, each of the next two years.

Charleroi proved the perfect host for single-game finals between 2004 and 2007, when it welcomed sellout crowds for each final at the Spiroudome to see such legendary champions as Real Madrid, Lietuvos Rytas, Dynamo Moscow and Hapoel Jerusalem crowned there. Both local fans and visitors enjoyed a unique basketball and entertainment environment for each of the title games there. Both the city and the club, Spirou Charleroi, were eager to open their doors to the event again this season and are preparing to make it an unforgettable night for fans.

The Eurocup Final will also bring plenty of attention to Charleroi as the competition's long-time broadcast partner, Eurosport 2, will televise its ninth consecutive title game on April 13 from the Spiroudome. The unparalleled cooperation of Eurosport 2 ensures that the Eurocup Final will be available on television to 61 million households in 18 languages across 47 countries.

Tickets for the Eurocup Finals will go on sale later in this season.
