The Last 32 reached its midpoint after Round 3 and when the dust from the 16 games settled, Maccabi Haifa Bazan's Donta Smith stood up as the weekly MVP with the highest index rating among winning players this week, 40, which incidentally was also the highest overall. To claim its second weekly MVP award this season, Smith led Maccabi with his perfect shooting for 24 points - 9 of 9 twos, 1 of 1 threes and 3 of 3 free throws -, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block and 3 drawn fouls for a resounding 86-66 home win over Montepaschi Siena. Next in line was Sammy Mejia of Banvit Bandirma with an index rating of 31 thanks to 26 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists. Finally, Mike Roll of CAI Zaragoza had an index rating of 29 with his 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
Individual highs: Caleb Green 6 steals
Steven Gray of BCM Gravelines Dunkerque led all scorers this week with his 28 points while Mejia was second in line with his 26. Two players led all rebounders with 13 boards each: Vladimir Golubovic of Aykon TED Ankara Kolejliler (8 defensive, 5 offensive) and Bilbao Basket's Axel Hervelle (12 defensive, 1 offensive). DeMarcus Nelson of Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade led all passers with his 11 assists and Caleb Green of Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari stood out in defense with as many as 6 steals. Finally, D'Or Fischer of Brose Baskets Bamberg stopped the offenses with his 3 blocks.
