Eighthfinals Analysis: Aykon TED Ankara vs. Khimik Yuzhne
Aykon TED Ankara
RECORD
RS, 6-4, 3rd
Last 32, 4-2, 1st

Aykon TED Ankara Kolejliler and Khimik Yuzhne are the only eighthfinalists that have previously faced each other in his year's Eurocup. Khimik registered a 60-84 road win in what was both teams’ first-ever Eurocup game to open the regular season. Then, Ankara bounced back with a 79-81 success on the road in Yuzhne. Before that game, Ankara had a 1-4 record: since then, it has won 9 of its last 11 games. The teams bring two very different playing styles to center stage in this series. Khimik is the lowest-scoring team (71.5 ppg.) to survive until this round and likes to play physical. Ankara is a run-and-gun team which led the Last 32 in three-point percentage (48.3%) and ranked second in defensive rebounds (160) and assists (142). Ankara is anchored by center, Vladimir Golubovic (20.2 ppg., 10.4 rpg.), who leads the Eurocup in performance index ranking (27.6 per game). Khimik needs to slow down Golubovic and his teammates in order to improve its chances in a series that you can expect to be played point by point, possession by possession.
