Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar keeps getting ready for its Eurocup return next season by bringing back versatile forward Nikita Kurbanov to a one-year deal. Lokomotiv keeps an option to extend his contract until the end of the 2015-16 season. Kurbanov (2.02 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Unics Kazan, where he averaged 3.3 points and 4 rebounds in 23 Eurocup games last season. He helped Unics win the Russian Cup and reach the Eurocup Finals and the VTB League semifinals. He already played for Lokomotiv in the 2005-06 season, when the team was still based in Rostov na Donu.Kurbanov has also played for Spartak St. Petersburg and CSKA Moscow in his native Russia. Kurbanov helped CSKA win as many as 6 Russian League titles. He also lifted the VTB League trophies in 2010 and 2012 and won four Russian Cup titles. Above all, Kurbanov won the 2006 Euroleague title with CSKA - the club's first in 35 years, and reached another final in 2007. Kurbanov has also been a member of the Russian national team, with which he won the 2005 U20 European Championships.
