EWE Baskets Oldenburg keeps big man Neumann
Jun 19, 2014
EWE Baskets Oldenburg reached another agreement with center Philipp Neumann for one more season, the club announced Thursday. Neumann (2.10 meters, 22 years old) joined the team in December 2013 and helped Oldenburg reach the German League semifinals. He averaged 6.9 points and 3.3 rebounds in 31 German League games with Oldenburg this season. Neumann started his career with SSKC Aschaffenburg / TV Langen and also played for Franken Hexer and TSV Troester Breitenguessbach before joining Brose Baskets Bamberg's first time before the start of the 2010-11 season. In his three full seasons with Bamberg, Neumann helped the team win three German League titles and lifted two German Cup trophies from 2011 to 2013. Neumann is also a member of the German national team. He helped the German U16 national team to win the 2008 European Championships Division B title. Neumann is set to make his Eurocup debut with Oldenburg next season. Oldenburg also announced that big man Jannik Freese will not stay in the team.
