Besiktas JK Istanbul started working on its roster early on in the offseason, adding three new faces for the upcoming 2014-15 Eurocup campaign. Turkish club strengthened its squad with signings of point guard Engin Atsur, forward Caner Erdeniz and power forward Jajuan Johnson for the next season. Atsur (1.93 meters, 30 years old) returns to Besiktas after four seasons away. He is arriving from the cross-town rival Galatasaray Liv Hospital where he appeared in three Euroleague games last season, while in limited minutes in the Turkish League he averaged 2.5 points and 1.6 assists. Having three Eurocup seasons under his belt, Atsur has career average of 5.5 points, 1.6 assists and 1.2 rebounds in the competition. Erdeniz (1.98 meters, 27 years old) played for Aykon TED Ankara Kolejliler last season, and in his Eurocup debut averaged 3.0 points and 1.6 rebounds, helping Ankara to a place in the quarterfinals. He posted 5.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists in the Turkish League campaign. Johnson (2.08 meters, 25 years old) is coming off his first season in Europe, where he played for Pistoia in Italy after his professional career started with Boston Celtics in the NBA. Johnson was the second leading blocker in the Italian League with 1.5 blocks per contest, in addition to 14.5 points and 6.6 rebounds.
