Brose Baskets Bamberg announced on Friday it resigned guard Daniel Schmidt for another two seasons. Schmidt (1.86 meters, 24 years old) grew up with Bamberg, and has spent the past five seasons playing for both Bamberg and its vinculated team Breiteng. He saw brief action in two Euroleague games last season, and a total of 15 in the past three years. Schmidt made his Eurocup debut in 2008-09 season, playing in two games. "We are pleased and happy that with Daniel Schmidt another Bamberger will be in the Brose Baskets Bamberg squad”, said Sports Director Wolfgang Heyder and added: “He has worked hard in the summer, and recommended himself for a place in the squad with his performance in training. For us, this is not a "change", but a logical consequence of our intensive youth work and a great success for the Bamberger program.”
