Fortitudo Bologna continued its
preparations for the upcomign season and its ULEB Cup debut by
extending the contract of Kristaps Janicenoks. The guard spent most
of the previous season on loan at Siviglia Wear Teramo, where he
averaged 12.4 points on 40.1% three-point shooting, and new coach
Andrea Mazzon decided he'd like the player to return for this season.
Janicenoks (195, 24) grew up with ASK Riga in his native Latvia and
played here until 2003 when he moved on to Liege BC in Belgium. He
has also played for Telekom Baskets Bonn in Germany and Upea Capo d
Orlando in Italy before joining Fortitudo. Among his career
highlights are winning the 2004 Belgian Cup and representing Latvia
at the 2005 European Championship.
