Ksistof Lavrinovic is returning to his native Lithuania to play for Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius for the remainder of the season. The two-time All-Euroleague selection arrives from Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia, which he joined on a two-month contract earlier this season to fill in for his injured twin brother, Darjus. Lavrinovic (2.09 meters, 35 years old) averaged 6.9 points and 3.4 rebounds in nine Eurocup games off the bench for Reggio Emilia. He will be available for Rytas in Eurocup action from the start of the Last 32 stage.
Lavrinovic has enjoyed past Eurocup success. He helped Unics Kazan reach the 2007 semifinals with 11.6 points, 7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 15 games. Lavrinovic was an All-Euroleague Second Team selection in 2008 and 2011 with Montepaschi Siena after leading the team to the Euroleague Final Four in both seasons. He also won five Italian League championships and four Italian Cups with Siena. Lavrinovic began his career with Alita Alytus in Lithuania and his career has also taken him to Dynamo Moscow and Ural Great in Russia, Valencia Basket in Spain and Rytas’s main rival in Lithuania, Zalgiris Kaunas. This summer he teamed with his brother to help Lithuania to the semifinals at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
