Panellinios took advantage of Olympiacos's full squad to loan guard Giorgos Apostolidis for the coming season. Apostolodis (197, 23) joined the Reds early this summer, but with coach Pini Gershon building one of the deepest rosters in club history, it was decided that the player would benefit most from more playing time available to him at Panellinios. Apostolidis grew up with PAOK and joined Iraklis in 2003. He played there for two seasons before going to Olympia Larissa, where he spent the past two seasons. He helped Olympia to finish seventh in the Greek regular season last year, its highest ranking ever. In that campaign, he averaged 5.4 points, 1.3 boards and 1.6 assists in 18 minutes per game. Apostolidis was also a member of the Iraklis team that finished third in 2003-04 season. He won the silver medal at the 2005 World under-21 Championships in Mar Del Plata, Argentina; the bronze medal at the 2003 World Junior Championships in Thessaloniki and the bronze medal at the European Junior Championships in Bobligen, Germany, with the respective Greek national sides.
