Chris Owens One of the most promising frontlines in the ULEB Cup just got deeper as Galatasaray Cafe Crown inked forward Chris Owens for the coming season. Owens (204, 28) had a strong ULEB Cup debut season last year with Alba Berlin, averaging 15 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocked shots in under 28 minutes per game. His signing in Berlin made news headlines across Germany and throughout the world last summer, since he is the great-nephew of American track star Jesse Owens, who won four gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. Now Owens joins a packed Galatasaray frontcourt, which includes Huseyin Besok, Charles Gaines, Brian Greene and Fatih Solak. Before joining Berlin, he had previously played professionally for Pallacanestro Trapani in Italy, CB Granada in Spain and Panionios Athens in Greece.
