Ermal Kuqo joins Pamesa Valencia

Ermal Kuqo - Efes Pilsen Pamesa Valencia has taken its first step for its ULEB Cup return in the 2008-09 season by inking center Ermal Kuqo to a two-year deal. Kuqo (207, 28) arrives from Efes Pilsen, where he has played for the last five years. He averaged 8.8 points on 41.9% three-pointers and 3.3 rebounds in 20 Euroleague games this season. Kuqo boosted his scoring average to 11.5 points in the Turkish League regular season and to 12.1 points in the Turkish League playoffs. He has helped Efes to win back-to-back Turkish League titles in 2004 and 2005, as well as lifting consecutive Turkish Cup trophies in 2006 and 2007. Kuqo has also played for Pivovarna Lasko in Slovenia, Split in Croatia, as well as for Fenerbahce in Turkey. He is also a regular member of the Turkish national team despite being the only Albanian that ever played in the Euroleague. As such, Kuqo returns to the ULEB Cup after a five-year absence. He averaged 9.3 points and 6.2 rebounds in the 2002-03 season, when Pamesa Valencia became the original ULEB Cup champion. Pamesa qualified for the 2008-09 ULEB Cup by finishing fifth in the regular season and sixth overall in the Spanish League.
