The center arrives from Miami of the NBA, where he averaged 4.2 points and 2.2 rebounds in 43 games last season. Johnson (208, 25) first made a name for himself with a successful college basketball career at Florida State University. He averaged 13.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1 blocked shot during his final season at the school in 2006. Johnson then spent a season with Memphis in the NBA before signing with Miami.

"Alexander is a tall, athletic player who bring very good rebounding ability and a physical game under the basket that will help complete the team," head coach Chris Fleming said. "After two years in the NBA, Bamberg is his first stop outside of the USA. We must give him a certain amount of time to acclimate himself."
