Two-time Eurocup champion Simas Jasaitis has returned to his origins by signing with Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius for the rest of the season. Jasaitis (2.03 meters, 32 years old) won the 2005 Eurocup title during his first, five-season stint with Rytas, the main club in the city where he was born. Jasaitis returned to Rytas for one season in 2010-11, then two years later won the Eurocup again with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar. A high-percentage, long-range shooter throughout his career, Jasaitis has played for six other clubs besides Rytas and Lokomotiv: Sakalai of Lithuania, Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel, Tau Ceramica and Joventut Badalona of Spain, Galatasaray and Turk Telekom of Turkey. Jasaitis holds career averages of 10.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 57 previous Eurocup games over four seasons. He has played in 103 Euroleague games over six seasons and put up 7.8 points, 3.1 rebounds on average. Jasaitis has been registered and is eligible to play for Rytas in the Eurocup Last 32 starting this week.
