Eurocup defending champion Valencia Basket has announced that veteran center Serhiy Lishchuk will miss the next two months due to the recurrence of a right leg injury. Lishchuk (2.10 meters, 32 years old) reinjured himself in a Spanish League game on Sunday. Team doctors determined that he had aggravated an injury that originally occurred during Valencia's regular season Round 7 game in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague and forced him to miss the remained of that regular season. Lishchuk returned in the Eurocup Last 32 a week ago, posting 8 points and 4 rebounds in 8 minutes of Valencia's victory over SLUC Nancy. Lishchuk had started three of the six Euroleague games he played this season, averaging 3 points and 2.5 rebounds. This is the sixth season Lishchuk has been playing in Valencia uniform, having won a pair of Eurocup titles with the club. Valencia also announced that forward Vladimir Lucic will not travel to the team's road game with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar this week due to a shoulder injury expected to sideline him for 7 to 10 days.
