Benetton Basket brings in guard KC Rivers

Benetton Basket Treviso plucked the top player from the second division in Italy, signing guard KC Rivers through the end of the season with an option for the 2010-11 campaign. Rivers (195, 22) arrives from A.B. Latina from the Italian Legadue, where he averaged 24.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game in his first professional stop. Rivers was a college star at Clemson University, where he averaged 14.2 points and 6 rebounds per game as a senior. He left the school as its all-time leader in games won (91), games played (134) and three-pointers made (281). He was also third in steals (210) and sixth in scoring (1,684). Rivers will be in attendance for Tuesday’s Eurocup game against Dynamo Moscow, but is not yet registered to play. He has been assigned uniform No. 9.
