Union Olimpija Ljubljana found a new head coach in Gasper Potocnik, who inked a two-year deal with the Slovenian powerhouse on Wednesday. In the last two season, Potocnik worked as Olimpija's U19 team, also being the head of the club's youth departement and also coaching Skofja Loka in the Slovenian second division. He has head coach experience with Skofja Loka and Elektra in Slovenia, and assistant coach experience with Krka Novo Mesto, to which he helped win the Slovenian League in 2011, and Olimpija, winning three Slovenian Cup and two Slovenian League titles from 2008 to 2010. Potocnik also works for the Slovenian national team as assistant coach since 2011. "I would like to thank the management and the club's sponsors for the opportunity and their belief. I know that we are facing difficult challenges and we have to be responsible. I believe we can follow the right strategy and achieve the set goals," Potocnik said. "We all need to be a little patient in the future. I will give my best to assemble a good team."
