AEK Athens improved its backcourt for its Eurocup return next season by inking guard Marc Antonio Carter to a one-year deal on Tuesday. Carter (1.91 meters, 30 years old) arrives from PAOK Thessaloniki, where he averaged 11.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 11 Eurocup games last season, helping his team reach the Last 16 and the Greek Cup semifinals. Carter started his professional career with Duesseldorf Giants of Germany and also played for Proteas Danoi AEL of Cyprus, Phoenix Hagen of Germany, as well as for AGO Rethymno Aegean and Panionios ON Telecoms of Greece - where he made his Eurocup debut in the 2013-14 season. As such, AEK will be Carter's third Greek team in the Eurocup. AEK also announced that young prospect Nikos Diplaris penned a five-year with his new club, until the end of the 2019-20 season.
