Zenit keeps three players long term
Zenit St. Petersburg reached new agreements with point guard Artem Vikhrov, forward Evgeny Valiev and center Andrey Destyanikov, who will stay in the team for three more years, until the end of the 2017-18 season. Vikhrov (1.96 meters, 22 years old) averaged 9.1 points and 2.6 assists in 9 Eurocup games last season, helping it reach the eighthfinals series. He started his career with the club - then called Triumph Lyubertsy - and made his Russian League debut in the 2010-11 season. Valiev (2.05 meters, 25 years old) has also spent his whole career with the club. He averaged 5 points and 3.2 rebounds in 10 Eurocup games last season. Destyanikov (2.20 meters, 21 years old) averaged 3.5 points in 2 games last season, in which he also played for Rossita Novogorsk and Zenit-2. Valiev and Vikhrov helped the club reach the EuroChallenge final in 2014 and the Russian League semifinals in 2012.
