Umana Reyer Venice keeps its most experienced player to lead the team once again, signing veteran center Tomas Ress to a one-year deal on Friday. Ress (2.08 meters, 36 years old) is a veteran of 160 Euroleague games over a span of 10 seasons, and he has made his Eurocup debut in 2013-14 with Montepaschi Siena. Last season, his first with Venice, he helped his team reach the Italian League semifinals with 6.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. Earlier in his career, Ress played with Scavolini Pesaro, Climamio Bologna and Regio Emilia before joining Montepaschi and spending there seven seasons. Ress is the third player whose contract Venice extended this season, after doing so with Phil Goss and Hrvoje Peric, who will all again be available for coach Carlo Recalcati.
