Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia strengthened its backcourt by signing guard Stefano Gentile to a two-year contract, club announced on Tuesday. Gentile (1.91 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Pallacanestro Cantu where he averaged 9.1 points and 3.3 rebounds in Italian League last season, and posted 7.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 16 Eurocup games last season. It was his second full Eurocup campaign with Cantu, where he spent past two years after playing with several other Italian clubs, including Caserta, Imola, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, Ostuni, Trento and Casale. Gentile also made a Euroleague as a teenager with Milan, playing in three games in 2007-08 season, and averaged 4.0 points. "I am very happy to get into a team with great ambition”, Gentile said. “Last season showed that environment in Reggio is at the highest level, and I am proud to be part of it. I'm just also happy to find Amedeo Della Valle, Andrea De Nicolao and Achille Polonara as my new teammates, as we've known each other for many years."
