Union Olimpija Ljubljana announced the arrival of shooting guard Miha Lapornik, who inked a three-year deal with the Slovenian powerhouse on Wednesday. Lapornik (1.94 meters, 21 years old) arrives from Zlatorog Lasko, where he averaged 13.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 32 Slovenian League games last season. He started his career with Lasko and only played for that club until now, so Lapornik will make his Eurocup debut with Olimpija last season. Lapornik is also a member of the Slovenian national team. He helped Slovenia win a bronze medal at the 2012 U20 European Championships. "I believe that the time has come for me to take a step forwards in my career and joining Union Olimpija is the right move to do that," Lapornik said. "It is an honor but also a big challenge - playing in the Adriatic League and the Eurocup will give me experience. Most young Slovenian players want to wear this jersey at least once in their careers, so I am very happy to be here."
