ALBA Berlin bolstered its frontcourt by inking power forward Ivan Aska to a two-year deal on Monday. Aska (2.00 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Maccabi Ashdod, where he averaged 16.5 points and 7.8 rebounds in 32 Israeli League games last season. He rankd fourth in the league in rebounding and fifth in scoring. Aska started his career with Stella Artois Leuven Bears of Belgium and also played for Ikaros Kallitheas of Greece and Cangrejeros de Santurce of Puerto Rico before joining Ashdod. He is also a member of the U.S. Virgin Islands national team, which he helped togold medals at the 2011 and the 2015 CBC Championships. He will make his Eurocup debut with ALBA.
"I was able to develop after college in different teams in Europe over the last three years and am now ready for the next step in ALBA Berlin," Aska said. "It was very important for me to be with ALBA as part of a collective that works hard every day to reach the highest goals. I am looking forward to this challenge."
