Avtodor keeps Kashin, brings back Makiev
Avtodor Saratov kept getting ready for its Eurocup debut next season by re-signing playmaker Viktor Kashin and bringing back center Alan Makiev, the club announced Sunday. Kashin (1.93 meters, 21 years old) was one of the best players Saratov's Basketball League. He started his career with Avtodor, averaging 3.5 points and 1.6 assists in 18 Russian third division games in the 2011-12 season. Kashin has also played for Rodniki Izhevsk and TEMP-SUMZ Revda of Russia. He has also been a member of the U16, U18, U19 and U20 national teams. Makiev (2.10 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Ryazan, where he averaged 8 points and 5.4 rebounds in 25 Russian SuperLeague games last season. It is Makiev's second stint in Saratov, as he played for his current team from summer 2011 to January 2015, helping it win the Russian third division title in 2013. He has also played for Elbrus Cherkessk and Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar's U23 team.
