Unicaja, Nedovic pen contract extension
Unicaja Malaga reached an agreement with combo guard Nemanja Nedovic to extend their relationship through the end of the 2017-18 season, the club announced Monday. Nedovic (1.92 meters, 25 years old) was under contract for the coming season; but the new deal keeps him in Malaga for an extra year. He averaged 7.4 points and 1.9 assists in 23 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. Nedovic shined in the Spanish League playoffs against one of his former teams, Valencia Basket, averaging 19.5 points in that series, which Unicaja lost 0-2. Nedovic averaged 8 points, 3.6 assists and 1.4 steals in just 19 minutes over five Euroleague games with Valencia in the 2014-15 season. At age 15, Nedovic signed for Crvena Zvezda Belgrade in his native Serbia and he made his debut with the first team at 17. He stayed there for four seasons before joining Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius in 2012-13. That season, Nedovic made his Euroleague debut and played 10 games. He also played one season for Golden State in the NBA as well as that team’s D-League affiliate in Santa Cruz before joining Valencia. Nedovic is also a member of the Serbian national team.
