Cajasol adds rebounding ace Ivanov

Kaloyan Ivanov (Photo: Basquet Manresa)Cajasol improved its frontcourt for its upcoming Eurocup debut next season by inking power forward Kaloyan Ivanov to a two-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. Ivanov (205, 24) arrives from CB Manresa, where he averaged 8 points and 6.1 rebounds in 34 Spanish League games last season. Despite averaging 23.2 minutes, Ivanov was the 10th-best rebounder in the Spanish League last season. Ivanov has also played for Vive Menorca in Spain, Cherno More IG Varna, Dunav Russe and Arsenal Kazanlak in Bulgaria and Avtodor Saratov in Russia. His twin brother Deyan also played one game for Cajasol in the 2006-07 season. Ivanov is also a regular member of the Bulgarian national team. He helped Cherno More to make it to the Bulgarian Cup final in 2006 and won the European Division B under-20 championships with Bulgaria, averaging 17.5 points and 11.8 rebounds in that tournament.
