Gran Canaria re-signs veteran playmaker Oliver
Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas reached a new agreement with point guard Albert Oliver to keep working together next season, the club announced Tuesday. Oliver (1.87 meters, 38 years old) averaged 5.4 points and 4.4 assists in 22 7DAYS EuroCup games last season, his third with the club. He helped Gran Canaria reach the EuroCup Finals in 2015 and the semifinals last season. Oliver also played the Spanish Copa del Rey final with Gran Canaria last February. He has played his whole career in Spain - Oliver started it with Sant Josep and Joventut, and also played for Basquet Lleida, Basquet Manresa, Valencia Basket and Estudiantes Madrid. He has amassed 535 points and 268 assists, ranking ninth all-time in the competition, in 85 EuroCup career games.
