Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius put an experience point guard into its backcourt with the addition of Donnie McGrath who signed a one-year deal, club announced on Wednesday. McGrath (1.93 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro, where in Spanish League last season he posted 7.7 points, fifth-best 4.7 assists and 1.7 rebounds. McGrath returns to Lithuania where he played with Zalgiris Kaunas in the second part of 2012-13 season. He has played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on three different occasions – making his debut in 2007 with Virtus Bologna, and played half season each with Zalgiris and Anadolu Efes Istanbul. McGrath also has four 7DAYSEuroCup seasons under his belt, the latest with Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd in 2014-15 campaign. He has averaged 8.9 points, 3.8 assists and 1.9 rebounds in his EuroCup career so far. Rytas becomes McGrath's 16th club since he started his pro career in Europe in 2006. He also played with Cantu, Varese, Verona and Teramo in Italy, Egaleo, AEK Athens and PAOK Thessaloniki in Greece, Cholet in France, Spartak St. Petersburg in Russia, and Manresa in Spain.
