ALBA Berlin signed elite shooter Spencer Butterfield for the coming season. Butterfield (1.91 meters, 24 years old) arrives from French side Nanterre, with which he averaged 13.7 points on 52.9% three-point shooting plus 3.9 rebounds in helping the team win the FIBA Europe Cup. He set a competition record for threes when he made 11 of 13 en route to 39 points in a quarterfinal victory over Muratbey Usak Sportif. Butterfield came up big in the Europe Cup finals with averages of 15.5 points on 6-of-9 shooting from downtown, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals. He also posted 12.2 points on 41% three-point shooting and 4.2 rebounds per game in the French League. Butterfield started his professional basketball career in 2014 with Spanish second-division outfit Melilla Baloncesto and played for Juventus in Lithuania before joining Nanterre.
