John Roberson set the single-game record for three-pointers in the 7DAYS EuroCup when he nailed 11 shots from behind the arc for ASVEL Villeurbanne in a triple-overtime road victory over Herbalife Gran Canaria on Wednesday night. Roberson, who had already made 8 triples in a game this season, also set a competition record for most threes in the regular season with 42. And his 42 points scored in the game and performance index rating of 44 were both the highest in the current 7DAYS EuroCup season.

Roberson tied and set the record with a pair of threes late in the second overtime to keep his team close. He added his 10th and 11th threes in the third extra session as ASVEL won 128-129 to finish atop regular Season Group D. He only missed 5 three-point tries and finished the game with 8 assists and 4 rebounds, too. His 42 points tied for the fourth-most in a EuroCup game

The previous record for threes in a single EuroCup game was 9, held by four players, including Adas Juskevicius of Lietkabelis Panevezys, who did so earlier this season. Ruben Douglas with Pamesa Basket in December 2007, Marko Popovic of UNICS Kazan in November 2009 and Jimmy McKinney of Telekom Baskets Bonn in December 2015 were the other co-holders of the record. The record for most three-pointers in the regular season was 41 by Chris Lofton of Besiktas Istanbul during the 2014-15 season.
