Brescia Leonessa locked a key player for the foreseeable future by re-signing guard Luca Vitali to a four-year deal until the end of the 2021-22 season, the club announced Friday. Vitali (2.01 meters, 32 years old) averaged 7.6 points and 5.8 assists in 37 Italian League games last season, helping Brescia reach the semifinals. He started his career with Kinder Bologna, making his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut at age 17. He has also played for Montepaschi Siena, Premiata Montegranaro, Olimpia Milano, Lottomatica Virtus Rome, Umana Reyer Venice and Vanoli Cremona in his native Italy, as well as for Herbalife Gran Canaria in Spain. He is set to start his third season with Brescia. Vitali is set to make his EuroCup debut this season but brings in 33 games of EuroLeague experience with four different teams – Virtus Bologna, Virtus Rome, Milano, and Siena. "I like being able to give back what I receive every day," Vitali said. "And that's why I want to give this society the best years of my career."
